Following the success of Bear’s TV shows, Man vs Wild, Running Wild and most recently Netflix’s You Vs Wild, aspiring adventurers can challenge themselves on an extreme survival course in the Scottish Highlands. This five-day intense survival course follows similar formats of the TV shows. It begins with a crash three-day course in Bear’s survival techniques and culminates in an epic self-rescue survival challenge. You will be pushed to the limit crossing difficult terrain and putting all your new found skills to the ultimate test in order to make your way back to civilisation.
Do you have what it takes to meet the challenge?
Starting at base camp in the heart of the Highlands, our highly trained and experienced Instructors will teach you Bear’s survival techniques.
This is an extreme environment like no other and perhaps one of the last remaining wilderness areas left in the UK. You will learn all the skills you have seen Bear demonstrate over the years, including his priorities of survival, skinning and gutting, fire lighting and emergency shelter building. However, it’s not all about survival, self-rescue is one of Bear’s key priorities.
Training complete, it’s time for the final challenge – You’ll be dropped off by 4×4 away from any form of civilisation and from then on, you are on foot as a team with no instructor support. You’ll need to head up in to the mountains where your survival adventure begins. Your aim – to cross the mountain range, summit the highest mountain in Alladale and make it back down safely. Remember, reaching the summit is only half the challenge. Along the journey you’ll need to set up a survival camp, forage for food, prepare and cook wild food, cross rivers, climb, scramble, raft, rappel, zip line across a high gorge and if you get back down in time, you’ll be rescued with an exciting, dynamic extraction.
