Centrepoint 50th Anniversary Gala at the Roundhouse: Wednesday 13th November 2019, Roundhouse, London
This year Centrepoint commemorates 50 years of helping to change the story for homeless young people. In April the charity launched their 50th Anniversary Campaign #ChangeTheStory to provide a voice for homeless young people and the key issues which affect them, particularly regarding housing and the ‘hidden homeless’ epidemic. This 50th Anniversary Gala at the Roundhouse will play a pivotal role in bringing the #ChangeTheStory message to some of the charity’s most loyal and influential supporters. It is wonderful that this special night falls within a month of the opening of Dean Street, their first Night Shelter, back in 1969. The evening will open with a special performance by spoken word artist Hussain Manawer together with Centrepoint’s young kids. James Nesbitt is confirmed as the host for the evening with Rita Ora and her dance ensemble providing entertainment.
Centrepoint has a longstanding history of hosting exceptional gala events. Welcoming world-famous celebrities to London they have been joined by Bon Jovi, Taylor Swift, Ellie Goulding, James Blunt, Nile Rodgers, Orlando Bloom, Tinie Tempah and Craig David in recent years. The 50th Anniversary Gala will be nothing short of spectacular and will showcase not only fantastic music talent, but will be a night to remember for up to 350 of Centrepoint’s most generous supporters. Hosting an exquisite dinner, exclusive performances, the night will culminate in an intimate and exclusive headline performance from a world-class artist.
Centrepoint will also host a luxury auction on the night. The event will ensure that Centrepoint can continue to #ChangeTheStory for homeless young people. Celebrating incredible achievements and recognising outstanding contributions, the Gala hopes to raise £1m to combat youth homelessness.
HRH The Duke of Cambridge has been Centrepoint’s Patron since 2005, having taken over the mantle from his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales. The Duke has challenged Centrepoint to end youth homelessness for good. Swiss manufacturer of luxury jewellery and watches Chopard is proud to be the main sponsor.
